Google Drive is excellent infrastructure and a weak memory system. It can keep photographs, documents, scans and family records safe, searchable and shareable for years. What it does not do is tell a future family member why any of them mattered.
That distinction is important because Drive often becomes a family archive by accident. Shared folders and Google One family storage can make access easy, but the files remain private unless explicitly shared and the meaning of the collection depends entirely on how people organise it.
